Kunstler, Kunstlerin, How long is forever 6 with Christine E. Sweeney.jpg

Künstler, Künstlerin returns with How long is forever 6 featuring Christine E. Sweeney. Her work is based around educational talks on gender research and targeted packaging. Using a teaching format, the performance delves into the lines between humour and concern. It leaves us in a position of power to look at what we are confronted with regarding our gender stereotypes. The work acts as a mediator between fear and laughter and what it means to be a human in society.

We will have 10 open spots available. Each spot is 5 - 7 minutes (10 minutes if needed). You will have access to the projector and sound system. If performances are loud they will need to be in the first half due to neighbor complaints with noise. We start at 9 and recommend coming early to ensure an on time start.

Any medium is welcome, taking on our ethos that we are able to make work without fear of failure, to push our own boundaries through medium use and ideas.

The entrance fee is 3 euros and this goes back to the artist that perform on the open stage and the featured artist.

You can sign up for the event on the Facebook event page and it is first come first serve. If the list is full there will be a reserve list in case anyone can't make it on the night.

Can't wait for another installment and see you all there!

IMPORTANT ARTIST CONVERSATION 02 ~
(Re)construction of a chair

Important Artist Conversation is a monthly feature curated by Künstler, Künstlerin, a series of artist talks that takes on various mediums and themes.

Our second installment is titled ‘(Re)construction of a chair' focusing on Gabriela Matuszewska and Joana Krawczyk. The talk will delve into a body of work they are creating collaboratively.

Gabriela Matuszewska is an artist using Sculpture and Painting. Her work contains elements of deconstruction and site specific installations to open up questions of our environment. The work lends itself to redefine glitches inside and outside of us.

Joana Krawczyk is a photographer working conceptually in the realm between fashion and documentary visual practice. In 2014 she launched a fashion brand called 'Klekko' and has since put her focus into making photographic work. The work she makes is still, showing 'between' moments of actions we would pass if not inspected closely.

We intend to provide a new approach to the artist talk that makes it possible to delve into the subject and strands from the finished works presented. Each artist is curated to help open the topics presented in each other’s works.

After both presentations we discuss the wider issues within the work shown together with the audience with Alexander Norton as the moderator.

Entrance fee is a suggested donation of 3 euros. This money goes directly to the artists and the space.

Important Artist Conversation will occur on the last Thursday of every month.

Künstler, Künstlerin presents Improvised 04 ~ "Images from childhood". All mediums are welcome in a space where ideas have room to grow and fall in the same moment.

I had a dream last night and in the dream I went back to the Tennis club I played at as a child. I was with my childlike self and I was as I am now. I saw my old teachers and was happy to see them. They told me I looked well and I was saying the same back to them.

Myself and the younger version of me, then play tennis together. Until all the people looked at us angry because they needed the court. We then left and made our way up to the large muddy walk which felt like a mountain. I looked at my old self and said, "we need to leave now, but it will all be okay".
We hugged and we woke up in our respective lives.

Images of childhood can catch us at any moment.

Performers have between 5 - 7 minutes and they do not pay to perform.

Any medium welcome.
