Summarize your work in one word?
Adjacency

What inspires you to continue making work?
I never know how a work will turn out, so curiosity is a big drive for me. I'm curious about what the next work will be.

What are you currently working on at the moment?
At the moment I am at an artist residency in a town called Salzwedel, working on a new series of drawings. I draw to express the mood of the situation and place that I am in. I normally walk around the town and draw fragments of what I have seen. I try to do this from memory because it simplifies and abstracts the images. I call them drawings because I use pencil and paper, but as I increasingly use color, my drawings are almost becoming small paintings. I'm doing this during winter and while in lockdown, so I have gotten a few desolate drawings so far. I realize this can sound bad, but it can also be beautiful.

Who inspires you most to push your work further?
Always Louise Bourgeois. I ́m inspired by the rawness of her work, and how it carries emotion. I admire how she kept working when no one was looking.

If you could say anything to your former self, regarding your art practice, that would help you progress what would it be?
It will have to be “thinking hard doesn't make interesting work” and “if it feels embarrassing, it is embarrassing”.
